Black Diamond Roofing & Construction was founded on a straightforward observation: too many roofing companies in Midland and Odessa were built around chasing storm volume, not building lasting relationships. Owner/President
Cullen W. Pickett founded Black Diamond Roofing & Construction on a belief that the construction industry needed more accountability, more craftsmanship, and more genuine investment in the customer experience. A proud Texas A&M University Class of 2014 graduate with over a decade of hands-on construction experience, Cullen brings both the education and the real-world grit to back up everything Black Diamond stands for.
Born and raised just outside of El Campo, TX on his family’s farm and ranch operation, Cullen credits his father’s lifelong guidance with instilling the discipline and determination that define how he leads this company. As the oldest of seven siblings, he understands what it means to be responsible for others — and that responsibility carries into every project Black Diamond takes on in Midland, Odessa, and beyond.
His vision is straightforward: consistently deliver superior roofing systems built to last, and elevate the life of every single person on this team. That’s not a marketing statement — it’s the standard he holds himself to every day.

Gunner Sherman

As Director of Operations & Insurance Supplementation, John brings over 30 years of experience as a staff adjuster for major insurance carriers to every project he touches.

John knows exactly how insurance companies evaluate damage, what documentation they require, and how to make sure nothing gets missed. As our head estimator, his precision and expertise directly benefit every homeowner and business owner we serve across the Permian Basin.
